Life shouldn't be all work and no play. I'm a big believer in rewarding yourself with those things that support feelings of happiness and relaxation.
Here's some advice I received many years ago and would like to pass along to you: Leave at least ten percent of everyday for yourself. Soak in the tub, sit in your favorite chair and read, walk or exercise regularly, listen to your favorite music, write that novel you've been putting off or plan a social evening with special friends.
If you don't make time for yourself, you're going to burn out physically, emotionally and spiritually. How are you going to enjoy and appreciate abundance and wealth if you're sick, stressed or tired?
You deserve a reward for all the day-after-day things you do for others, wouldn't you agree? It's time to sit back and dream BIG about how you can add more fun and relaxation in your life. How about planning a vacation next year? How about a facial or massage? How about test driving the car of your dreams and making it a goal? How about planning to spend extra time with your family and friends?
Take a few minutes of quiet time and write at least one way you can enjoy yourself more in each of the following areas:
Personal:
Family:
Physical:
Professional:
Emotional/Spiritual:
Financial:
Social:
Community:
You owe it to yourself and the other important people in your life to take good care of your physical and emotional health. How can you be there for others if you aren't taking good care of yourself?
So, how do you reward yourself?
Rewarding yourself is living your life's mission.
Rewarding yourself is living your dreams.
Rewarding yourself is feeling proud of your accomplishments, big and small.
Rewarding yourself is sharing the message of high self-esteem with others.
Rewarding yourself is treating you with love, kindness and respect.
Rewarding yourself is taking special time for the things that make you happy.
Rewarding yourself is saying "no" without guilt.
Rewarding yourself is telling family and friends that you love them and believe in their dreams.
Rewarding yourself is empowering yourself to be self-confident, self-sufficient and self-assured.
Rewarding yourself is living a long, happy, healthy, fulfilled life.
Rewarding yourself is touching the lives of others for the better.
Rewarding yourself is forgiving yourself for your mistakes.
Rewarding yourself is making the money you deserve and spending some of that money on yourself and your loved ones.
Rewarding yourself loves you, "warts and all."
